Despite more competition from new taquerias and Mexican markets, and despite every-which-way trendy wrap-like inspirations elsewhere, readers once again voted Burrito Express as their favorite place for this flavorful south of the border specialty. Located at Foothill Square Shopping Center near Milpitas High School, Burrito Express packs them in at lunch and get diners on their way quickly. Milpitans’ votes were spread fairly evenly among the remainder of the city’s numerous Mexican eateries, with a 3-year-old newcomer, Burrito Factory, closest to the victor. Honor Awards went to: Burrito Factory, Casa Azteca, Royal Taco, La Milpa, El Alazan, El Torito, Taco Bell, Taqueria Las Vegas, Taqueria Los Cunados and Baja Cactus.
