A longtime restaurant and often-nominated business in the category is Casa Azteca. It is no wonder, with filling daily lunch specials around $7. Casa Azteca was the outright winner in 2008.
Mil’s Diner, another runner-up, had topped the field for seven years straight but had discontinued dinner service until recently. Their lunch specials, at about $6.50, are tough to beat. Mil’s was followed by a diverse cast: McDonald’s, Lee’s Sandwiches, Foster Freeze, Chili’s, Mikonos Grill, New Tung Kee, Baja Cactus, Taqueria Los Cunados, Quiznos, Taqueria Las Vegas, Panda Express, Taco Bell, Togos, Erik’s Delicafe, Subway, Suraj, Red Brick Pizza and Hometown Buffet.
